Window Shopping

Traveled along Davenport Road lately? If so, you may have already been one of the many surprised passersby captivated by my new The Pleasure Is Back window display. Presented by Toronto window gallery Roadside Attractions (911 Davenport Road), this first-of-its-kind display brings The Pleasure Is Back to a streetside audience and includes a banner, t-shirt wearing mannequin, thirty-six mugs and other The Pleasure Is Back merchandise. Rounding out the installation is a television playing a slideshow of select clippings on continuous loop.

The display was installed shortly before Christmas, and will be up until January 20. The demands of the holidays prevented me from taking any pictures until yesterday, but as you can see it looks pretty nice. Check out more photos after the jump, then head over to The Pleasure Is Back Etsy store to purchase anything that tickles your fancy.

BiasedGod

I recently penned a two-part feature for Hype Lighter on avant-garde Hamilton recording artist Motëm, further proving I’m not much of a journalist but am superb at writing flagrantly hyperbolic profiles of my friends and their work. Hopefully readers will pick up on the tinge of self-awareness in it.

Buy, Buy, Buy- Don’t even ask why!

After letting it languish a year in a vegetative state of misery, I’ve euthanized the webstore portion of the The Pleasure Is Back website and started anew at online DIY craft-and-art marketplace Etsy. There you can find all the same t-shirts, posters, mugs and books you’ve come to love in a more user-friendly, dynamic shopping experience. I hope this will boost my sales from next-to-none to more-than-some, and clear out enough inventory to allow me to one day make some new products.

The official The Pleasure Is Back Webstore (Powered By Etsy) is open for business HERE.

You can find a characteristically over-the-top press release for the occasion on the The Pleasure Is Back Facebook page HERE.

Thank you for showing interest in my work.

The Great War

I wrote another art review for Hype Lighter, this time on Jesse Harris’ solo show and new monograph, Jesse Wars Here. I’ve been a fan of Jesse’s work for a long while now, so expect indiscriminately positive commentary throughout. Can one be an art critic if one doesn’t criticize anything? Not important—I just want to share the good word about great art!
